What we're learning next week

So you know what some of what we're up to next week...

Maths:

Lots of data-handling: graphs, charts and tables of all kinds- pictograms, bar-charts, bar-line graphs, line-graphs. We'll be investigating the data- identifying what conclusions we can draw from them, if there are modes (most frequent/popular item) in the data.

Plus, if you are a super-whiz, you may want to investigate the median, average and range...

  • Revising the types of punctuation we encounter and why we use them.

  • Writing our own new chapters and settings for the book- using all our powers of description.

  • Identifying characters' personalities from what they say, do and others say about them.

  • Evaluating how characters develop.

  • Using comparative connectives.

  • Comparing film and literature.

Science:

We'll be looking at the functions of the heart, the muscles, what happens to our bodies when we exercise and why.
