We have been working on using adverbs in our work, particularly playscripts but they crop up in EVERY piece of good writing! But what are they? Adverbs are words that tell us more about verbs and how they are done....they add information to the verb.
(A verb is a 'doing' word or a 'being' word, e.g. 'walk', 'feel' so 'I walk mournfully', tells you that I walked sadly)

We have made an interactive display of some useful AND interesting adverbs to help us in our work if we get stuck for ideas. If you are still not confident with using adverbs then click here to try some BBC quizzes or worksheets on adverbs.
Can you say you have achieved the target of using interesting adverbs in every piece of writing?
