5K have spent today investigating what happens to the length and position of shadows throughout the day.
At half an hour intervals, 2 children went out with the following equipment to draw a chalk line on the shadow and measure and record its length using a metre stick. As you can see, the length of the shadow continually changed.
Can you explain what has happened to the shadow? What does this tell us about shadows during the day?
